The City of Yucaipa consolidates with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters office for all municipal elections. General Municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in November of even-numbered years for the purpose of electing City Council Members or placing special measures before the community.
Although the City of Yucaipa consolidates with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters, the City Clerk serves as the Local Elections Official. As the Local Elections Official, the City Clerk is responsible for all candidates’ filings (including campaign and conflict of interests), issuing and accepting nomination papers, publication of all legal notices, and City measures.
The General Municipal Election
The City Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-09, calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the election of the following:
Member of the City Council, District 1 – Full Term Four Years
Member of the City Council, District 2 – Full Term Four Years
The Candidate Filing Period for Nomination Papers will be July 13, 2026, at 8:00 am – August 7, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
If a current officeholder fails to file by August 7, 2026, at 12:00 pm, the nomination period for that district will be extended through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
In addition to Resolution No. 2026-09, calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election, City Council also adopted Resolution 2026-10, Requesting the Board of Supervisors to consolidate a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Resolution 2026-11 was also adopted, Adopting Regulations for Candidates for Elective Office Pertaining to Candidate Statements.
